Probes for the Aspiration of Bronchial Secretions

Vacutip and Vacutip Unometric Aspiration Probes by Unomedical

Probes for the Aspiration of Bronchial Secretions Probes for the Aspiration of Bronchial Secretions Probes for the Aspiration of Bronchial Secretions

Tip with atraumatic design. The smooth and round distal tip does not injure the tissues. The two lateral orifices, of which the sum of the areas is inferior to the opening area of the distal orifice, increase the vacuum in the latter, preventing trauma by lateral adherence of the probe to the mucous membrane. Laboratory studies have attested the greater efficiency of these probes in the removal of bronchial secretions in relation to other probes in which the vacuum is applied laterally.

The surface is polished in order to reduce attrition with tissues, which makes for easy insertion and handling and reduces the risks of mechanically induced reflex vasoconstriction.

The vacuum control is inbuilt and specially designed to (when open) reduce vacuum by 99,8%, minimizing the hypoxia caused by the residual vacuum of other controllers, namely the y connector (not inbuilt).

It is transparent in order to make for easy visualization of secretions.

Unometric system option

  • Measurements in cm, beginning at 5cm from the tip and up to 30 cm in length, in order to make for easy calculation of length of probe above the baby’s carina
  • It is recommended for neonatology units and pediatric intensive care units.
