Gastroduodenal Probes

The Unomedical gastric probes can remain inside the patient for four weeks without any risk of systemic release of products resulting from the decay of polyvinyl chloride, or of hardening and formation of traumatic creases. Our probes are phthalate-free, which endows them with plasticity and assures that they remain smooth and flexible. Unomedical was one of the first producers in the world to remove these substances from their gastroenterological probes production. The new probes use poly-adipate, a plasticizer tested in accordance to the norm ISO 10993, which does not present any health risk. One of the conditioning factors of the probes’ durability is its loss of flexibility due to dispersal of the plasticizer to the adjacent tissues. By using poly-adipate, the problem of dispersal is significantly reduced, so the probe can remain for long periods of time inside the patient.
